MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be willing and able to become a Certified Food Manager upon hire (training provided at facility)
• Must have basic computer skills
• Must be willing and able to lift 50 pounds
• Must be willing and able to work weekends and holidays as required
• Must be willing and able to work 10-hour shifts
• Successful completion of the due diligence process to include, but not ‎limited to, a ‎Level II background check and drug test

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Food preparation experience in long-term care facility‎
• High school diploma or equivalent

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Incumbent will work under the supervision of the Food Service Administrator.  The Food Support Worker (FSW) sets up serving lines with food items according to the daily menu.  Incumbent ensures hot and cold food is maintained at correct temperature levels.

• Assembles, disassembles, and operates dishwashing machine, pot washer, vegetable peeler, food chopper, meat grinder, etc., and cleans machines following manufacturer's instructions
• Performs general cleaning duties to maintain area in a sanitary condition, cleans food carts, ice cream cabinet, gaskets on refrigerator and freezer doors, walls, floors, windows, ceiling, counters, tables and chairs, stoves, garbage and trash rooms, defrosts ice maker, refrigerator, washes pots and pans. Scrapes, de-stains, and washes dishes, glasses, silverware, etc., Takes out garbage and trash to appropriate area
• The FSW cleans serving counters, dining and kitchen areas
• Prepares foods such as salads, may open large quantities of canned foods and warm for serving, and serve food
• Assist cooks by cleaning and preparing raw foods
• Performs other related duties as required including special catering events and meal charges
• Attends in-service training classes, department and staff meetings as required
• Performs all other duties assigned by your supervisor
