ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
The incumbent must obtain a Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) within six (6) months of appointment. The Florida Forest Service will cover the majority of the cost associated with attaining the required CDL training and the initial CDL test when administered at an agency authorized CDL training center.
May require occassional travel.
Position may respond to emergencies, including natural disasters or other type incidents requiring travel, as needed.

Working hours: Daily from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Total hours in workweek 40. This position works four 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday.
JOB DUTIES:
This work is in wildland fuels management on public and private lands within North Central Florida. Work is performed primarily in the Suwannee Forestry Center but may require occasional travel.
Employee is expected to establish and maintain firebreaks and to mow/mulch vegetation to reduce wildfire risk and to support prescribed burning operations.
Employee operates, maintains and performs minor repairs on various types of equipment including tracked mulchers, skid steers, bulldozers, front end loaders, farm tractors, tractor-trailer or truck-trailer combinations.
Participates in prescribed burning operations.
Performs associated administrative duties documenting personnel and equipment time, work performed, basic mapping, services reports, and shop work orders.
