This position is 3 days a week, but negotiable on 4 or 5 days if needed.


This is a professional Dentist position providing services consisting of examination, diagnosis, treatment planning and care of conditions of clients. All services are provided through the mobile dental bus in Columbia and Hamilton Counties serving children in the schools and other locations throughout the summer.


Obtains adequate medical and dental history of patients. Take, develops and processes dental radiographs. Diagnose dental problems of patients. Administers local anesthetics. Completes all necessary dental procedures including, but not limited to composite fillings, stainless steel crowns, extractions, prophylaxis, and dental sealants or refers as needed. Provides oral hygiene instructions to patients and parents. Provides topical fluoride applications and sealants to teeth of children as needed. Oversees and directs the work of dental personnel.


Ensure compliance with DOH Dental Program Guidelines. Ensures compliance with Medicaid policy and guidelines and billing procedures. Ensures compliance with all DOH regulations, policies and procedures.


Promotes and develops community and school-based preventive and educational programs. Promotes the development of a county integrated, coordinated oral health system between the public and private sectors. Participates in needs assessments and monitors county oral health indicators.


Other related duties to include but not limited to: Employee Activities Reports (EAR -weekly input), timesheet submission.


Responsible for securing the designated information sets for the purposes or protecting confidentiality, data integrity, and appropriate access, for all information, both confidential and public record, which is stored in hard copy or electronic formats.




This position requires that you have a valid Florida Dentist License. Must be willing to provide services to school-aged children and provide services on a mobile dental bus.
