Shift:  3:30pm-12:00am

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Willingness and ability to work weekends and holidays as required.
  • Willingness and ability to work 3:30pm to 12:00am
  • Licensure as a Professional Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464 or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with Florida Administrative Code 210-8.27.
  • Must have current CPR from a classroom setting.  
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Successful completion of a Level 2 Background Screening and Drug Test.
     
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • One (1) year of experience working with a geriatric population in a skilled long-term care facility.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of computer applications: Microsoft Office, including Outlook.
     
    POSITION DESCRIPTION
  • Provide quality care to the veteran residents to ensure their health, safety and security in accordance with established agency Standard Operating Procedures and Nurse Practice Act.
  • Perform assigned duties to include but not limited to administration of medications and treatments per MD order, monitoring and providing interventions to meet the needs of the resident, completing accurate clinical documentation reflective of resident’s current status and supervising CNA and other supportive care giver.
  • Reports to the Nursing Supervisor.
  • Provides administrative support that is technical in nature through established nursing standards, the individualized care plan and interdisciplinary team work according to established local and FDVA policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates shift assignments to team members, providing supervision of licensed and unlicensed staff and follow up to ensure completion of assignments.
  • Provides assistance as needed with all aspects of resident care, treatments, assistance with self-administration of medications, coordinating medical appointments and spending time in social interactions with residents each shift worked.
  • Report resident concerns and needs promptly to the appropriate team member.
  • Assist with monitoring and accountability of residents to enable medical personnel to accomplish health related tasks.
  • Follow Resident’s Rights policies at all times and maintain confidentiality of resident information.
  • Consistently work cooperatively and respectfully with residents, family or resident representatives, facility staff, physicians, ARNP’s, consultants and ancillary service providers to assist residents to achieve maximum abilities, safety and promote happiness.
  • Document services and care plan outcomes appropriately within the facility software/database.
  • Participate in staff development and orientation of new personnel.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Attends all in-service programs, training classes and domiciliary meetings. Assumes responsibility and accountability for information contained in the Employee Handbook.
