Currently Hiring for – 11:30PM to 8:00AM
Position is eligible for Overtime and $1.00 / hour shift differential pay.
Excellent retirement package and optional deferred compensation plan. Health, vision, dental, disability, and other supplemental insurance are available at reasonable premium rates. Paid vacation and sick leave. Nine (9) paid holidays and a personal day. Tuition waiver available for State Universities and Community Colleges (up to 6 credits per semester).

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have a current Florida Registered Nursing License
- Must have a current CPR Card
- Must be willing and able to work 11:30PM-8:00AM
- Must be willing and able to work weekends and holidays as required.
- Must possess excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, and Word)
- Must have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Successful completion of the due diligence process, to include not limited to, a Level II background screen and drug screen
Preferred Qualification:
- Experience in a long-term health care environment (assisted living facility, nursing home, skilled nursing facility)
- Experience in staff development / staff education
- Supervisory experience
Duties and Responsibilities:
Incumbent is responsible for directing and supervising nursing personnel of the Florida State Veterans' Assisted Living Facility and coordinating total nursing care for the residents of the Domiciliary. Works under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing (DON).
- Ensure that the nursing personnel are following their job descriptions and that the residents are receiving total nursing care
- Receive notices of absences when nursing staff calls off, and coordinates assignments to maintain regulatory compliance and meet the needs of the residents
- Notify the Administrator and/or DON of any emergency situations in the building
- Make daily rounds to observe residents and to determine if nursing needs are being met
- Observe all nursing staff giving care at least once during an eight-hour shift
- Maintain the standards of nursing care and implement the policies and procedures of the facility and nursing department
- Follow all local, state, and federal rules and regulations
- Comply and perform within the scope of practice as defined by the Florida Nursing Practice Act
- Assist in review of policies and procedures
- Ensure that reference material at the nurses’ stations is current
- Make recommendations to DON for improved and/or additional items
- Review and follow-up incidents and/or complaints occurring on assigned tour of duty. Complete reports and forward to DON
- Will give Basic Life Support (CPR) when necessary
- Assist DON in ensuring that all assessments are completed prior to the Interdisciplinary Resident Care Plan Committee meeting
- Check all documentation related to assessment for those residents scheduled for IDT
- Ensure that any incomplete documentation is finished within twenty-four (24) hours of a scheduled IDT Conference
- Participate in economical utilization of supplies and ensure that equipment is maintained in a clean and safe manner
- Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in residents such as cardiac arrest
- Participate in the maintenance of a clean and safe environment
- Actively participate in continuing educational programs for self-development and in overall quality improvement programs
- Perform other related duties, including special projects, as assigned
