STATE ATTORNEY’S OFFICE, THIRD JUDICIAL CIRCUIT, FLORIDA

 

POSITION TITLE: IT SPECIALIST II

EFFECTIVE DATE: 4/25/2022

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

 

  • Provide end user with advanced level desktop support including but not limited to OS imaging, hardware, software, mobile device deployment, troubleshooting, problem assessment, documentation, inventory, computer relocation, and internal applications support.
  • Desktop support in a large government setting experience
  • Creating Microsoft Powershell scripts for the purpose of task automation and best practice domain management.
  • Windows Operating Systems Administration: Windows 10, and Windows Server
  • Advanced knowledge of Remote Communications Technologies (Zoom, Teams, Etc.)
  • Advanced level desktop support including troubleshooting hardware, software in Windows Active Directory and domain structure environments.
  • Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft 365
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP routing and switching
  • Network appliances i.e., switches, firewalls, wireless access
  • Web & Email Spam filtering techniques and practices
  • Advanced knowledge in OS imaging, remote support, Microsoft Office and various application packages
  • Network wiring CAT5 and CAT6, troubleshooting, and installation.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • This position works under the general supervision of the IT Director.

 

OTHER JOB-RELATED REQUIREMENTS: Valid DL and possess operational private vehicle for use in performance of daily work activities. Occasionally working outside normal shift/business hours. Navigate tight spaces which may involve a combination of kneeling, crawling, bending, stooping and/or reaching. Ability to lift 30 lbs. and move equipment.

 

PREFERENCES: Experience in support of Apple and Android smartphones. Experience in creating and using Microsoft Powershell and scripts. Experience in creating and supporting automated deployments of software. Knowledge of VOIP products and support.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: (Note: The knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) identified in this class specification represent those needed to perform the duties of this class. Additional knowledge, skills and abilities may be applicable for individual positions in the employing agency.)

 

  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft 365 systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose hardware and software issues on major manufacturer platforms
  • Ability to manage virus protection across the domain
  • Experience setting up and configuring PC’s
  • Knowledge of networking topology and concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and LAN/WAN, and desktop / server virtualization.
  • Microsoft Outlook setup and configuration
  • Occasional need to work after normal business hours or weekends
  • Good communication, time management, process management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment, including effective multi-tasking, exercising patience and professionalism, and advancing on longer-term projects in parallel to ongoing daily business needs
  • Attention to detail and patience for user questions
  • Active Directory management and migrations
  • Ability to support by phone and in person.
  • Network wiring CAT5 and CAT6, troubleshooting, and installation.
  • Ability to communicate technical data processing information effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree in computer science with minimum 4 years of experience or A+CompTIA, Network+ Microsoft MCP/MCSA certifications strongly preferred.  Computer Desktop Support experience may substitute for the educational requirement.

COMPENSATION: IT Specialist II are compensated at an annual rate of $35,568. Salary up to $40,000 with additional experience.  The full package of State benefits accompanies this position including State of Florida retirement, insurance options, paid holidays, and leave.
