District Court Staff Attorney, Senior Staff Attorney, and Career Attorney


Multiple positions are open until filled.


District Court Staff Attorney, Senior Staff Attorney, and Career Attorney positions conduct legal research activities for a judge of a District Court of Appeal.



Graduation from an accredited law school/Florida Bar.


Senior Level requires two years Florida Bar Membership along with two years of experience as a Staff Attorney, two years practice of law, or a combination of experience as Staff Attorney and in the practice of law.


Experience in the practice of law must be subsequent to admission to the Florida Bar.


Career level requires five years of experience and Florida Bar membership.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Outstanding analytical, research, and writing skills are required.


For each case, you will be expected to analyze the legal and factual issues presented, perform independent legal research to confirm what legal principles govern, and by applying those principles, set forth an objective, unbiased conclusion.


You must be able to write legal memoranda in a clear, organized fashion to inform the court about the issues, arguments, and controlling law.


You must have a firm grasp of basic legal principles with the ability to expand your current base of legal knowledge into many different areas.


You must have completed your core classes, including evidence, with high marks.


You will be expected to have expertise in proofreading and citation formatting.


All work will be done impartially, confidentially, promptly, and professionally.


You must be able to work effectively with others, which includes the ability to accept and provide constructive input.


Salary Range and Benefits

The salary range is $4,576.66 - $5,838.20 Monthly.


*Salary will be 10% ($4,118.99 monthly) below minimum if not passed Florida Bar.


FLSA status of this position is Personal Staff.
