Requirements:

Employment in this position is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal history check (fingerprint-based) in accordance with Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. 

 

Office hours are from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, Monday through Friday. Work hours are flexible.

This position requires up to 5% to 10% travel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Janitorial duties to include; cleaning/sanitizing breakrooms, conference rooms, restrooms, hallways, and office spaces; stock paper supplies in necessary areas; collect trash and recyclable receptacles from all areas and dispose of; overseeing office recycling programs.
  • Exterior grounds-keeping include; collecting debris from grounds and parking areas, mow, trim low limbs on trees and shrubbery, weed flowerbeds, edge. Sweep/ blow walkways and paved areas.
  • Perform general maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds and equipment and other miscellaneous items as directed. This includes performing preventative maintenance on all buildings and related equipment. Perform minor repairs on all plumbing, electrical and lighting equipment. Perform repair/alterations of building woodwork (partitions, door, cabinets, and special furniture).
  • Perform general carpentry work in the alteration, repair and maintenance of buildings, floors, doors, and windows.
  • Prepare and paint interior and exterior of buildings and equipment and other miscellaneous items as directed.
  • Assist with HVAC maintenance and operations.
  • Perform/assist in hurricane preparedness program.
  • Access the Facilities Maintenance Request system and close out completed request.
  • Relocate furniture and equipment from building as required.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Perform by understanding/following all safety related rules to include OSHA, NFPA, FWC, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 1-2 years experience working as a maintenance technician with strong customer service focus.
  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques used in the skilled mechanical repair trades, including, carpentry, basic wiring, painting, plumbing, and HVAC.
  • Follow industry safety guidelines and procedure.
  • Skill in the use of common bench and hand tools and the equipment used in maintenance and repair work.
  • Ability to plan and organize building maintenance and repair work, read and write, interrupt blueprints, take accurate measurements, perform basic math, and understand, apply, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to easily lift 50 pounds.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft office software, especially Outlook.
  • Ability to work with and easily communicate with all staff.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve all building functions and issues.
