MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successful completion of the background screening process including, but not limited to a drug test and finger printing.
- Better than basic computer skills.
- Must be fluent in English: Reading, writing, speaking and understanding.
- Must possess good customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Must be willing to work weekends and holidays as scheduled.
- Must be able to work all shifts (7-3, 3-11 and 11-7)
POSITION EXPECTATIONS:
- The incumbent Health Support Aide (Personal Care Attendant) must participate in a training program and competency evaluation.
- The incumbent will ensure completion of residents Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and other daily assignments during the shift, while identifying and resolving resident needs. This includes maintaining resident daily hygiene, nourishment and appointments.
- At completion of training, must successfully pass the CNA certification test within 4 months.
The incumbent will:
- Provide necessary assistance to residents when giving the following ADL nursing care – oral hygiene; bathing; dressing and grooming; hair and nail care; toileting; assistance with meals, nourishments and transportation to meal service areas, and mobility.*
- Perform simple nursing measures within their scope of permissible work duties.*
- Routinely observe, identify and report resident concerns/needs to supervisor.
- Escort to resident appointments when required.
- Complete assignments timely, completely and accurately. Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.
- Document in the nursing assistant notes the care and treatment provided to the resident.*
- Complete required documentation.
- Consistently work cooperatively with resident, resident representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants and ancillary service providers. Maintain Confidentiality of resident.
- Follow established performance standards and perform duties according to nursing service policies and procedures. Review care plans and perform nursing care as outlined. Participate in the development of an individualized plan of care of assigned residents.
- Performs all other related duties in an effective, timely, professional manner as assigned.
- Attend all in-service programs classes as assigned
