MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires valid Florida Certified Nursing Assistant certificate at the time of application.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Willingness and ability to work weekends and holidays, as required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in the English Language: Reading, writing, speaking and understanding.
  • Successful completion of a Level 2 background screening to include,but not limited to a drug test and finger printing.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in a Long Term Care facility with a geriatric population.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

Knowledge of long-term care specific to resident rights, quality of life, quality of care, infection controls.

Ability to maintain professional etiquette when dealing with residents’ family and with staff. Ability to deal with general input and output computer functions.

Knowledge of nursing assessments.

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Incumbent is responsible to provide direct Nursing care to residents on an assigned unit for the Veteran's Nursing Home of Florida and maintain a valid Florida Nursing Assistant certificate.

Provide the assistance necessary when giving residents the following Activities of Daily Living Nursing care: oral hygiene; bathing; dressing and grooming; hair and nail care; shaving; toileting; eating and drinking; mobility.

Perform restorative nursing measures.

Perform simple nursing measures such as but not limited to: applying binders, making occupied and unoccupied beds, changing linen, etc.

Respond to resident’s requests and needs. Complete required documentation.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
