MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One (1) year of grant, accounting, fiscal, planning, program evaluation, program monitoring, social services, or professional administrative experience.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects with multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to develop and organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, ‎‎proposals and other written documents.‎
  • Ability to obtain Florida Certified Contract Manager (FCCM) certification within one ‎year of date of hire.‎
  • Ability to successfully pass a Level 2 background screening, drug test, and due diligence process.‎

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Preference given to applicants with the following:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of grant, accounting, fiscal, planning, program evaluation, program monitoring, social services, or professional administrative experience. Or any combination of education and/or professional experience with experience described above substituting on a year-for-year basis for college education.
  • One (1) year of experience working with grant funds.
  • One (1) year of experience reviewing or processing invoices.
  • Florida Certified Contract Manager (FCCM) certification.

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This position performs advanced and complex grant work within the Homes Program of the Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs. The incumbent in this position must be able to research, understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to grant work and activities. This position reports to the Grants Specialist V and performs work as follows: 

  • Grant research, grant writing, and assist with grant proposal(s)/application(s) requirements.‎
  • Prepares periodic reports on grant activities.‎
  • Assist with interpreting regulations and policies for Grant Specialist V, Program Administrators, ‎and Division ‎Director.‎
  • Assist with developing and monitoring both administrative and financial policies/procedures for ‎grant programs.‎
  • Reviews and processes grant invoices ensuring compliance with the grant program and financial requirements.
  • Develops and maintains a categorical inventory of grant invoices and other grant documentation.
  • Develops Excel tracking worksheets for grant expenditures and maintains updates to tracking worksheets timely.
  • Assures the implementation and operation of policies and procedures for grant programs.
  • Analyzes present grant and makes recommendations for improved effectiveness.‎
  • Recommends the initiation of projects.‎
  • Provides assistance on all matters pertaining to the development and operation of grant programs.‎
  • Assist with processing staff applications for scholarships and/or other rewards for which they qualify.‎
  • Performs related work as required.‎
  • Overnight in-state travel is required periodically.
