Paid Bi-Weekly
A formal offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of a Level 2 background screening and due diligence process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have a minimum of four (4) years of professional health insurance billing or accounting experience.
- Must be proficient in the use of computer applications: Microsoft Office Suite and Internet Research.
- Must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively convey ideas, both verbally and in writing.
- Must have the ability to work on multiple, complex projects and the ability to solve problems effectively and develop workable solutions.
- Experience in Nursing Home/Long-Term Care billing.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Successful completion of the due diligence process, to include but not limited to, a Level II background check.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications:
- Experience in providing technical assistance and support to long-term care billing professionals with Health Information Systems.
- Knowledge of and experience working with medical billing and Health Information Systems.
- Knowledge of State of Florida Medicaid and Medicare/CMS federal laws, rules, regulations related to Long Term Care billing and monitor changes to those regulations/laws.
- General familiarity with the concepts of Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement.
- Training experience.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Under the general supervision of the Business Manager III and Health Operations Manager, incumbent performs duties involving the independent application of accounting skills, billing activities and other related fiscal matter. Performs accounting and billing related functions in the Health Information System, DDE, MFMP, FLAIR or current State accounting systems.
The Health Data Analyst must have the ability to work under minimum supervision and independently. This position requires in-depth knowledge of Revenue Cycle Management, including billing, collection, payment posting, and the software systems that support those functions. Must be able to assist with training and have the ability to organize, design, implement and maintain updated material for the training program per Standard Operating Procedures. Must be able to perform all billing functions performed by the billing unit staff in a timely and accurate manner. Must assist in the coordination of other fiscal related matters related to the State of Florida Accounting System and Health Information System. Other responsibilities and duties include the following:
- Provide support and assistance for all billing team members in the daily accounts receivable functions.
- Monitor payer guideline changes, payer contact information, and the communication and implementation of changes as they develop.
- Complete and maintain registrations and users’ access to a wide variety of Commercial, Governmental and Web portals.
- Enter and track health data information in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement tracking system and create reports to help address significant errors, assisting in claims resolutions.
- Monitor Billing team competencies, provide feedback to management.
- Responsible for billing, collection, cash posting, and aging follow up duties as a backup in the absence of staff.
- Help ensure the Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs (FDVA) remains in compliance with all State and Federal billing regulations.
- Ensure availability of office supplies, products and/or equipment necessary for the proper operation of the Billing Unit.
- Assist with systems software training.
- Monitor records maintenance and retention per Standard Operating Procedures.
- Monitor all Medicaid MCO websites monthly to check for applicable updates. Maintain and balance monthly billing for Medicare A and B, Medicaid and third-party payers
- Therapy unit uploads.
- Assist in filing inquiries, research, submit reconsiderations and appeals related to billing accordingly.
- Serve as a back-up to billing staff as needed.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Language
English proficiency.
Knowledge
Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and Commercial third-party billing. Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication. Knowledge of State of Florida and Federal rules and regulations regarding Long Term Care and Medical billing.
Skills
Applicant must have leadership skills. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Computer skills (Internet searches, Excel, Word, etc.). Must be highly motivated and work well in a team environment. Applicant must have strong organizational skills.
