The incumbent will serve as Program Administrator / Clinical Services to the State Veterans' Nursing Homes Program.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Unencumbered Florida Registered Nurse License.
  • Must be willing and able to travel throughout the state of Florida, per the needs of the agency.
  • Successful completion of the employment screening process to include, but not limited to, a national background investigation and drug test.‎

 

PREFERENCES

  • Four (4) or more years of experience as a Licensed Registered Nurse in Long-Term Care facility, or clinical regional experience in Long-Term Care.

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Overview:

The direct leadership and management of clinical processes and systems to assure positive outcome in the State Veterans’ Homes by researching and the utilization of evidenced based clinical practices.  Oversees the clinical services of State Veterans’ Homes, maintains professional standards of care and ensures compliance with State, Federal and VA regulatory guidelines.  Leads the development of best practice and quality assurance programs and initiatives in clinical care to maximize resident satisfaction and outcomes.  Responsibilities include coordination with Administration/Clinical Leaders in providing leadership and best practice initiatives for clinical staff.

 

 

Operational Duties:

  • Oversees and supports daily clinical operations of assigned SVNH case load 24/7.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing standards and procedures for clinical care practices in the SVH’s.
  • Direct coordination and execution of quality assurance activities including the following: QAPI standards, Quality Validation Visits, Plans of Correction, SVNH Quality Indicators, and SVNH’s Care Standards and Bench Marks, and MDS Audit in the SVH’s, CMS 5 Star Program, and Governors Gold Seal awards.
  • Develops and provides oversight of orientation, annual educational requirements and additional educational programs to the interdisciplinary team members as appropriate and monitors compliance with staff education and training to meet resident needs and regulatory guidelines.
  • Coordination of Nursing Assistant Program and accountable for the development, implementation and evaluation of the training program; acting as a liaison with the governing board; arranging for educational facilities, clinical resources and faculty development/supervision; ensuring classroom instruction is provided during scheduled times; collecting student evaluations; monitoring first time pass rates for certification exams; monitoring student attrition rates; resolution of student complaints and grievances; and continual review and revision of the Certified Nursing Assistant Program.
  • Serves as the back-up Director of Nursing for the State Veterans’ Nursing Homes and Domiciliary in the absence of the incumbent.
  • Supports nursing home quality assurance efforts, programs and plans, including mock survey teams in their efforts to reduce or minimize deficiencies.
  • Supports the Agency in administration, research and outreach.
  • Performs other duties, as required.
  • Travel is required for this position, and may be up to 75% of the time
