Your Specific Responsibilities:
This Health Data Analyst position serves as a data specialist for the Department of Health in Citrus County. This position works under the supervision of the Administrator.
Serves as the lead research and analysis coordinator for special research projects, data requests and specific surveillance tracking for senior leadership, internal programs, and external partners. Responds timely to requests and provides accurate follow-up while ensuring communication with leadership. Collects, compiles, and analyzes data from CHD systems for ongoing monitoring of the programs to evaluate their effectiveness, to determine the progress on achieving objectives, and for continuous program improvement. Prepares evaluation summaries and reports. Assists in preparing annual performance reports, including progress on performance measures and evaluation results. Assists in preparing program success stories identified through evaluation results. Prepares program materials and other reports and materials as assigned.
Assists with the collection and verification of data for the Strategic Plan, Community Health Assessment, and CHD performance measures. Prepares and conducts presentations for staff and partners as needed to share public health data. Applies statistical methodology to provide information for scientific research and statistical analysis. Provides program planning, evaluation, and training for assigned activities. Research community needs. Prepares evaluation summaries and reports according to program and funder requirements.
Conducts complex activities around surveillance and investigation of both chronic and infectious disease. This may include investigation design, targeted field investigations, interviews, and data analysis. Ensures timely follow up of appropriate measures and notification of manager. Analyzes and interprets statistics to identify significant differences in relationships among sources of information. Investigates, evaluates, and reports on applicability, efficiency, and accuracy of statistical methods used to obtain and evaluate data. Attends meetings as requested and needed including monthly Program Coordination Meetings to receive information and integrate service planning across the agency.

Monitors and evaluates assigned performance measures to ensure achievement of agency and division goals.
Completes special projects to include QI initiatives and GIS mapping opportunities.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to use logic and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches. Knowledge of computer software including applications. Knowledge of essential medical equipment.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED
Preferred: 1 Year or more experience working data analysis projects.
