**This is an Other Personnel Services (OPS) temporary position**
Your Specific Responsibilities:
- Assists in the recruitment and coordination of local community partnerships by helping to organize meetings and conducting business and activities of the partnership. Coordinates partnership activities within the county.
- Represents Florida Department of Health Citrus at community events and meetings including but not limited to: support groups, workshops, health fairs, trainings, community based organizations and local coalitions. Assist in the identification, planning and implementation of targeted screening, outreach programs based on basic analysis of health trends and distribution among various cultural, social, economic, and subgroup populations in the community. Provides technical assistance not considered part of routine duties including but not limited to communicable disease prevention and surveillance, public health awareness, and emergency response situations.
- Incumbent will teach Diabetes classes and Heart Health. Curriculum training will be provided. This person will teach night classes for both curriculums. In addition to other outreach efforts.
- This person will mobilize the residents, program participants and providers of Citrus to educate on methods of preventing unplanned parenting and the prevention of STDs, HIV/AIDS and rabies prevention and treatment. Provides information and other resources to community residents/service providers to facilitate the development and improvement of community health services. Serves as a resource person for technical knowledge in the field of health promotion and public health education.
- Conducts interviews with clients in accordance with established guidelines and documents relevant health history, interventions, and outcomes.
- Coordinates program activities with communicable disease staff, community health staff, Healthy Start, WIC, and other health department staff as needed. Submits regular reports as required to ensure appropriate progress on work plans. Prepares documents for vendors and ensures compliance with state guidelines. Provides materials to individuals and/or families about WIC/Healthy Start services, communicable disease prevention/treatment and healthy lifestyle and provides information as needed and regular in-service trainings. Completes forms and paperwork in hard copy and electronically as required.
