The ideal candidate for this position has experience working in a dental and/or medical office providing direct service to clients. This position does not require you to be a Certified Dental Assistant.

 

**This is an Other Personnel Services (OPS) temporary position**

Your Specific Responsibilities:

  • Enters Ears (Employee Activity Records) within required time frame.
  • Florida Department of Health is required to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs shelter or performing other emergency duties
    including but not limited to, response to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster man-made or natural.
  • Performs other Duties as required

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to coordinate schedules.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs or more.
  • Ability to Dependably get to and from work.
  • Ability to provide instruction/education to patients in preventative dental health techniques.
  • Knowledge of oral hygiene and preventative dental care.
  • Knowledge of sterilization practices.

 

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work with children.
  • Experience working with office equipment, C, fax machines, scanning.
  • Customer Service
  • Florida Department of Health is required to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an
    emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs shelter or performing other emergency duties
    including but not limited to, response to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster man-made or natural.

Preferred:

  • Dental experience
  • Experience working with children.
  • Experience using Dental Software
  • Current CPR certification
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Previous Florida Department of Health experience
