The incumbent is part of a global public health organization and is expected to support the Florida Department of Health in Citrus County in its mission to protect, promote, and improve the health of all people in Florida through integrated state, county and community efforts. NOTE: This is an Other Personnel Services (OPS) position, which is considered temporary hire. There is no paid Holiday’s, Vacation time, or sick days. You can obtain health insurance, vision and other insurance options thru the State vendor.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

  • Completes and submits time sheets, EARS daily, and Time sheet via People first system.

 

  • Subject to emergency duty in the event of a natural disaster and replies to call down procedures via the Everbridge system.

 

  • Completion of all mandatory or assigned trainings within the required time frame.

 

  • Expected to promote Florida Department of Health in Citrus County in its mission to protect, promote and improve the health of all people in Florida through integrated state, county, and community efforts and its vision to be the healthiest state in the nation.

 

  • Furthermore, the incumbent is expected to incorporate the agency values of Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Responsiveness and Excellence in all aspects of their work.

 

  • Provides clerical assistance for the front desk of the Environmental Public Health office including but not limited to printing, entering applications, copying, faxing, and scanning, filing etc. Capable of entering inspections into the computer for various programs in Environmental Health.

 

  • Keeps abreast of all clerical procedures and reviews updates.

 

  • Recommends improved work procedures for efficient use of time.

 

  • Operates the multi-line telephone to receive incoming calls.

 

  • Provides information or forwards calls to the proper recipient.

 

  • Attends staff meetings and in-service programs as needed.

 

  • Responds to requests for information via mail, phone, or in person.

 

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must have a valid Driver’s license.

 

Responsible for securing the designated information set for protecting confidentiality, data integrity, and appropriate access, for all information, both confidential and public record, which is stored in hard copy or electronic formats.

 

Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.
