What you will do:
- Requests Court information and court notes from staff/Discharge Coordinators prior to hearings.
- Must maintain the RTC list.
- Documents the people on the discharge list and those with flags in chart.
- Habeas packets to attorney for Response to Court.
- Notice of Hearings sent to Units to be distributed.
- Timely updates to units regarding the need for patients for court and their charts.
- Receives and reviews all 95-3 forms. Forms are reviewed, prioritized and processed within 3 days of receipt. Addresses issues of competence Prepares documents for treatment and/or Guardian Advocate appointment. Documents are correct with no substantive errors and no more than 2 non-substantive typos. Schedules and coordinates hearings with fewer than two errors in the calendar year. Files documents with Clerk of Court providing sufficient notice of hearing dates. Prepares and processes all hearings. Informs the appropriate personnel of docket, hearing dates and times with fewer than 3 complaints for each hearing. Coordinates witness attendance and acts as liaison with court, attorney, staff and families with fewer than 3 complaints for each hearing. Maintains case legal files and court calendars. Keeps case legal files neat and orderly with no cross-filings between patient files. Keeps all court dates calendared with no errors. Notifies interested persons of court dates with at least 5 days notice, whenever information received with sufficeint lead times. Prepares necessary paperwork for medical procedures for patients.
- Liaison for forensic patients. Tracks forensic patients with fewer than 3 errors. Prepares necessary correspondence with the court regarding forensic patients. Attends and takes notes at Adminstrative Review Committee meetings regarding forensic patients. Liase with members of the General Counsel's Office, SAMH Office, Judicial Offices, Regional SAMH Offices, Community Liaisons, general public, family members and individuals that we serve. Redirects issues as appropriate.
- Prepares answers for Garnishment actions. Tracks Personnel Actions, assists with PERC, ADA, Unemployment and EEO claims.
- Fill in for attorney where schedule does not permit the attorney's attendance. Has included treatment teams, Morning meetings, Return to Court Teleconference Calls, etc. Acts as ears and eyes, collecting and disseminating information. Convey outstanding issues back to attorney.
- Maintains attorneys’ calendar accurately.
- Maintains a working knowledge of the mission, vision, values, long-term objectives, annual business objectives, organizational structure and NEFSH operating procedures to include administrative objectives. Treats customers, public and staff with courtesy, respect, dignity and presents a positive image to ensure optimum customer satisfaction.
