$42,561.57 - $46,817.68 Annually $1,636.98 - $1,800.68 Bi-weekly
Position Summary
This position complies with and monitors compliance (when applicable) of the mandatory requirements in Section 215.422, F.S. and Chapter 3A-20 of the Florida Administrative Code, Federal ICF/DD Standards and FAC 10D-38. This position has responsibility for their assigned shift for all five residential facilities (I, II, III, IV, and IV). The residential units vary in their scope of practice and service delivery to the residents assigned. Sunland has a total of 349 licensed Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) beds. These beds are specifically for persons with disabilities and multiple handicapping conditions (e.g., non-ambulatory, deaf/blind, etc.).
The Work You Will Do
This position has responsibility for the overall administration of all second shift functions. This position also provides collaborative oversight with the leadership of Unit 1, Unit 2, and Unit 3. This position is responsible for making quality assurance rounds on the shift to ensure adherence to policies and procedures. This position requires an understanding of Florida Statutes 393.11, 916, and Florida Administrative Code 65G.
Ensure that staffing levels are sufficient and meet the Agency for Health Care Administration standards. Conducts rounds nightly with deficiencies noted and evidenced in daily shift reports.
Also ensures that ongoing quality assurance rounds are undertaken to overlay support for the residential areas by the incumbent.
Acts in a responsive manner to challenges on the shift to include but not limited to phone calls after business hours or returning to the facility as appropriate and that matters are addressed expeditiously. Ensures participation in residential special events.
Handles administrative duties including reports of abuse, neglect, or exploitation, investigations, communications with Security and other departmental team members, and fire and disaster drill monitoring.
Performs an array of data collection, tracking and analysis for the purposes of providing improved staff management and service delivery, quality management, and strategic planning. Assist in special projects as required.
Conducts the proficiency checks for Physical & Nutrition (P & N) as assigned. Complies with all training requirements to ensure compliance with training and staffing needs related to P & N and other trainings.
Will attend meetings as required.
Will assume Administrative Duty Officer (ADO) on a rotating schedule including holidays.
Performs other duties as outlined.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have at least three (3) years’ professional experience working with persons with disabilities.
- Must have at least three (3) years of experience in directing or managing workloads and redirecting employees.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Knowledge of methods of data collection and analysis
- Knowledge of basic management principles and practices
- Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow and other
activities to improve operational and management practices.

- Ability to analyze complex reports and determine the service utilization habits of clients and to evaluate the appropriateness of that.

As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. Background Screening Requirement
It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
