Description

This is a position established as a Custodial Worker.  The primary function of this position is to perform work maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, disinfection, and safety of the facility. The incumbent must be able to document clearly and ensure that documentation is completed as required.

 

Ensure the housing area is clean, disinfected, and sanitized.  This includes but not limited to, scrubbing floors, baseboards, applying finishing products to floor, washing walls, windows, windowsills, sinks, showers, and commodes.  Also includes but not limited to, vacuuming, shampooing carpets and rugs, sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, and wiping off tables, furniture, water cooler and sinks, ceiling fans, air vents etc.  Areas include but not limited to, bedrooms, dayrooms, kitchen, dining area, laundry room, linen room, storage rooms and offices on the house on a daily basis.  Assist in making beds as needed.  Sort dirty linen and carry out assigned laundry procedure.

 

Assist in maintaining adequate supplies and dispensing of these supplies on an as needed basis.  Maintain supply rooms and storage sheds in an orderly fashion and in compliance with state and federal standards.

 

Keep the immediate outside area around the house free of trash.

  

Complete required documents (work order, supply requisition, etc.) as necessary. Notify supervisor and/or management immediately of any areas of concern.

 

Completes all required training. Maintain Sunland’s current crisis management prevention and intervention certification as required.

 

Maintain timesheet, ensuring accuracy and submit timely in accordance with policy and procedure.

 

Perform other related duties as required.

 

Minimum Requirements

No experience required however, preference will be given to those with custodial/janitorial experience.

 

Knowledge, skills, and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position:

  • Knowledge of safety measures for using and storing cleaning supplies.
  • Ability to perform basic housekeeping duties.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

 

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT:

It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
