Your Specific Responsibilities:

This is a highly responsible and independent position assisting management in the administrative tasks associated with computer systems. The incumbent will be responsible for all computer and phone systems at Jackson County Health Department and outlying clinics, i.e., Graceville and Sneads Clinic, Dental and Environmental Health Offices. Work involves analysis and assisting policy and requires independent initiative in the recommendation of changes in policies, rules and regulations. Responsibilities will include both hardware and software technical problem solving and training County Health Department individuals on the computer system.

Assist in the design and configuration of a distributed computer systems environment with appropriate hardware, operating systems software, applications software and communications components to solve problems for the local area networks.

Will serve as Systems Administrator for the HMS System as well as the information custodian for computer system/network.

Analyze and resolve software and communication problems using diagnostic software and/or technical trouble shooting processes.

Installs and implements distributed computer systems hardware, software and communications components including enhancements and upgrades.

Performs ongoing networking audits to maintain system security and integrity. Monitors the use of software and hardware throughout the network and provides for ongoing identification and resolution of user needs.

Coordinates and will be the liaison with the State Health Program Office and State Information Resource Management when appropriate to resolve systems, equipment, HMS/Cache problems.

Creates purchase orders in My Florida Market Place. Is responsible for monitoring purchase orders during approval process, follow-up with vendor from approval to invoicing.

  • Effective planning, organizing, and coordination of work assignments.

Qualifications:

Preferred:

  • A minimum of 1 years of experience in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
