Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for performing technical and administrative work in the development and maintenance of computer systems and network systems of the Department of Health at assigned County Health Department. Customer Satisfaction: The incumbent will always come to work and exhibit an attitude of friendliness and eager customer service towards all employees and act respectfully and courteously to fellow employees. This position will require daily travel up to 50% of the time.

 

Provide tier 1 and 2 level technical support on-site or by phone/email that is focused on the needs of the client and the satisfaction of the customer service. Install and implement distributed computer systems hardware, software, and communication.  

 

Participate in data processing of the technical work completed in the support of the distributed computer systems, including but not limited to the hardware, software, peripherals, and communication equipment.

 

Conduct monthly on-site reviews of distributed computer systems and components assigned to clients to determine the accuracy of documented data and to update data to reflect current data as needed. 

 

Performs monthly updates/upgrades of distributed computer systems.

 

Monitor Information Technology assets faults/issues and take steps to resolve them. Maintain Information Technology assets to ensure functionality and uptime.

 

Creates purchase orders in My Florida Market Place. Is responsible for monitoring purchase orders during approval process, follow-up with vendor from approval to invoicing.

Qualifications:

Minimum -

All Florida Department of Health positions require the incumbent to be able to learn and communicate effectively, orally and in writing, in English. Applicants who do not meet this requirement will not be considered.  

Preferred –

  • A minimum of one years’ experience in computer hardware trouble shooting and repair.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
