STARTING SALARY: $1,588.86 bi-weekly. (In accordance with the current spending restrictions, an internal promotion into this position will be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or up to 5% of the employee's current rate, whichever is higher.)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitors training plans and SkillPro for the North Region. Provides trainings as approved by Regional Director and requested by the Chief Probation Officer as qualified for which may include the following but is not limited to: Human Trafficking Staff Training (HTST); Suicide Prevention; Detention Risk Assessment Instrument (DRAI/DSI); Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/ First Aid, Protective Action Response (PAR/RI) direct care trainings. These trainings may be related to Master Instructor, Train the Trainer or subject matter expert trainings provided by the Office of Staff Development & Training (SD&T) or other entities or for adjunct training requirements to provide support from the region to the circuits
Provide technical assistance when applicable for programs and facilities. Conducts site visits to ensure integrity and compliance with Florida Statutes, Administrative Rule, Departmental policies and procedures and terms and conditions of contact(s); observe, evaluates, and assesses program effectiveness; recommends corrective actions following monitoring activities that identify program deficiencies; provides on going technical assistance and guidance to providers/programs to include but not limited to consultation on policies and procedures/Administrative Rule that effect program functions; liaison between programs and various branches of the Department (i.e. Facility Services, Contract Administration, Bureau of Monitoring and Quality Improvement, Office of the Inspector General/Central Communications Center, etc.); prepares documentation/reports after site visits and technical assistance when applicable; maintains telephone contacts with the program on a regular basis to promote effective information sharing, good communication and provide technical assistance when needed; performs, participates and contributes in pre and post operational reviews for providers/programs; advises appropriate administrative and programmatic staff of problems or potential problems.
Conducts program reviews assigned to North Region Probation, which is comprised of Circuits 1,2,3,4,5,7,8, and 14. Program reviews are the result of an incident that has been reported to the Office of the Inspecter General Central communications Center alleging that an employee or provider has violated a rule, policy or procedure. Must complete Program Reviews in accordance with FDJJ 2020 and the training provided by the Office of the Inspector General.
Serves as the North Region Electronic Monitoring (EM) liaison. Conducts bi-weekly EM audits in coordination with Probation Headquarters staff. Will be the subject matter expert and provide training and technical assistance to the circuits. Will monitor equipment needs and will participate in bi-weekly calls with circuit liaisons and complete the monthly EM reconciliation report for contract monitoring. Attends, participates in Regional and Circuit meetings to share information. Provides feedback to the Regional director on Circuit EM needs.

Knowledge in risk factors for delinquency, assessment and evidence-based treatment and practices.
Knowledge in Implementation and Sustainability Planning Processes.
Knowledge of the principles, methods and techniques of adult learning.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to gather and organize data into a logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials.
Ability to work independently and to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.Ability to assess training needs.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to use desktop computers, including the Microsoft (MS) operating system, and the MS office software suite.
Ability to use Juvenile Justice Information System (JJIS).
Ability to travel throughout the state on short notice as needs arrive.
Skill in building interpersonal relationships through training, coaching and mentoring others
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school diploma is required at the time of submission of the candidate profile.
A valid driver's license is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Preference will be given to a candidate with three or more years of administrative related business experience.
SPECIAL NOTES:
This position may require flexibility in work hours, depending on workload.

If initially hired with an out-of-state license, the Florida resident must obtain a valid Florida state driver’s license within 30 days of hire. Licenses suspended or revoked for any reason, work permits (Business purpose/Employment/education only licenses) and some types of restricted licenses are not acceptable. Licenses that have Corrective Lenses Restriction are acceptable, provided the driver wears corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.
Positions that include the transportation of youth while performing any work or work-related functions on behalf of DJJ, require: (1) a valid driver’s license; and (2) three-years acceptable driving record as defined in FDJJ Policy 1920.
