WORKING TITLE: Government Operations Consultant II - Inventory Coordinator
This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Region 1 Office of Community Corrections.
The mission of the Inventory Coordinator at the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to manage and oversee the accurate tracking, recording, and reporting of the department's assets and inventory.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
- Accurate Inventory Management: Maintain precise inventory records in the electronic management system, tracking the full lifecycle of assets from receiving to disposal.
- Audits and Discrepancy Resolution: Conduct regular and ad hoc audits to ensure alignment between physical counts and system records, investigating discrepancies and recommending corrective actions.
- Inventory Monitoring and Forecasting: Monitor inventory levels, identify low-stock or overstock situations, and support forecasting through usage analysis.
- Purchasing and Reporting: Serve as a backup for purchasing, prepare and maintain inventory and reconciliation reports, and collaborate with Field Office Manager and Circuit leadership to reconcile inventory and budget data.
- Training and Compliance: Train staff on inventory procedures, oversee proper storage and security of equipment, and maintain documentation for warranties and vendor contracts, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Master Inventory Control: Grasp essential concepts like cycle counting, JIT, and FIFO for effective stock management, along with Florida PALM knowledge.
- Optimize Supply Chain: Enhance logistics, vendor management, and operations with a solid understanding of the supply chain from ordering to delivery.
- Tech-Savvy Inventory Management: Excel in using software and databases for tracking inventory, managing orders, and generating insightful reports.
- Advanced Inventory Techniques: Implement cycle counting, physical audits, and ABC analysis to prioritize high-value items and maintain accuracy.
- Proficient Computer Skills: Utilize Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet applications for efficient data handling and reporting.
- Streamlined Procurement: Navigate the purchasing process, create purchase orders, and coordinate with vendors, with a preference for p-card process knowledge.
- Expert Reporting: Craft detailed reports to monitor inventory levels, stock movement, and turnover rates using tools like Microsoft Excel.
- Dynamic Problem-Solving: Quickly resolve inventory discrepancies, adapt to changing demands, and collaborate across teams for seamless operations.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Two (2) years of experience in inventory management, asset tracking, warehouse operations, procurement support, or related administrative work.
- Experience maintaining records, reconciling data, and preparing reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) with the ability to learn and navigate electronic inventory management systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for reporting, training, and coordination with staff across multiple locations.
- Ability to follow established procedures, ensure compliance with policies, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues, leadership, and vendors.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
