The primary function of this position is to assist in the development and implementation of behavioral training programs and acquisition needs in the area of personal independence.

 

Implementation of personal independence training through acquisition or reduction programs to assist individuals to accomplish goals and objectives identified in the Individual Program Plan (IPP).  Provides significant hands on training of residents.  Provide stimulating leisure activities that are of interest to individual residents to promote a stimulating environment/routine to reduce maladaptive behaviors.

 

In the area of personal independence, will assist in the development of functional assessments and develop objectives for active treatment plans.  In the absence of the HSSS, the SRUS will be responsible to perform regular written summaries of progress, addendum’s to IPPs and discharge summaries as directed.

 

Provides integrative activities in the community to promote normalization and proper use of community resources.

 

Assists in maintaining required logbooks, progress notes and other regulatory documentation as indicated.

Attends meetings as required, including annual IPP meetings, active treatment meetings, staff meetings, etc.

 

Completes all required training. Maintain Sunland’s current crisis management prevention and intervention certification as required. Monitor and tracks to ensure assigned staff complete required training and maintain certifications as required.

 

 

Maintain timesheet, ensuring accuracy and submit timely in accordance with policy and procedures.

 

Assists in monitoring overall cleanliness and maintenance of training areas, including developing work orders as directed. 

 

Performs other related duties as required.

 

Minimum Requirements

One year of professional experience assisting with direct care services.

 

Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position

Knowledge of the practices used in the treatment of mental health problems.

Ability to lift forty pounds.

Ability to assist in carrying out prescribed rehabilitation treatment programs.

Ability to administer routine medications and prescribed treatments under supervision.

Ability to make observations of clients and to identify changes and unusual occurrences.

Ability to maintain charts.

Ability to perform basic housekeeping duties.

Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

 

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT:
