$33,760.00 - $37,136.06 Annually $1,298.46 - $1,428.31 Bi-weekly
Position Summary
The Vocational Instructor II will primarily be responsible for providing instruction and supervision to Sunland’s developmentally disabled population. Emphasis will be placed on the overall development of the individual which includes acquisition skills, positive work habits and work relations, transportation, but not limited to those listed. Instruct individuals in the development of skill acquisitions and/or reduction of maladaptive behaviors; refine or retrain individuals.
The Work You Will Do
Responsibilities consist of watering the plants, fertilizing plants to treat disease and prevent pest attack, planting flowers in the greenhouse, assisting customers with their concerns and questions; trimming plants; harvesting and transporting crops.
Ensure that the greenhouse has adequate levels of soil, fertilizer, and pesticide on hand by conducting regular inventory counts and helping to prepare supply orders. In some cases, this can also include taking inventory of seeds. Retail greenhouse workers also monitor inventory levels of plants for sale as well as supplies.
Plan and assist in conducting employability development and training as requested.
Prepare necessary paperwork such as data reports, timekeeping, quarterly/annual assessments, progress notes, contract, or statistical information, etc. This will include attendance to interdisciplinary meetings, i.e., psychotropic quarterly and annual reviews.
Design, develop and implement training as relates to individualized needs, i.e., adaptive devices, modifications, etc.
Other related duties and responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Preferred: At least one year of experience propagating plants and working in a green house
- Preferred: At least one year of experience working with persons with disabilities

Background Screening Requirement
