LAFAYETTE BLUE SPRINGS STATE PARK
This is a largely independent position responsible for cleaning and maintaining the cabins at Lafayette Blue Springs State Park in between visitor stays. This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining 5 rental cabins in accordance with Florida Park Service building standards. This is an OPS position that will be scheduled for up to 29 hours per week. The selected candidate will be required to work a flexible schedule that may include holidays and weekends. This position does not include health benefits or paid leave. Opportunities will exist for additional training and experience.

Take a dip in the first-magnitude spring, walk the natural limestone bridge that crosses the spring run, or picnic under the shade of the oak trees with their swaying Spanish moss. Fish or canoe on the Suwannee River or stay in one of the park's rental vacation cabins, which stand on stilts high above the riverbank. Bicycling, hiking and wildlife viewing are favorite pastimes for visitors.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated, hard-working individual, to fill a Park Attendant position at Lafayette Blue Springs State Park. This position is centered on the cleaning of the rental cabins and day to day park operations. The successful candidate will be required to perform various duties including the following: cleaning cabins, park maintenance, grounds keeping, park protection, visitor services.
VISITOR SERVICES/VISITOR EDUCATION - Explains facilities and services provided for public use, enjoyment and education; meets visitors, answers questions, provides information and directions. Attempts to resolve visitor complaints while maintaining good public relations.
MAINTENANCE - Maintains cleanliness of the park’s rental cabins, grounds and facilities. Experience in some basic maintenance skills is preferred.
PROTECTION – Seeks compliance of park rules pertaining to all natural, historical and archaeological facilities and resources and use thereof for enjoyment of the visitor.
Performs related work as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:

Minimum Qualifications:
Valid driver’s license.
