This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Circuit 18-0 Titusville.

This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Helps offenders on community supervision find jobs by teaching job readiness skills, like filling out applications and practicing interviews, and connecting them with employment opportunities.
  • Builds partnerships with local businesses, schools, and organizations to create job opportunities and educate employers about benefits like tax credits for hiring felons.
  • Assists offenders in identifying their skills, interests, and career paths through assessments and connects them with education or vocational training programs.
  • Organizes job fairs and volunteer opportunities to help offenders gain experience, skills, and professional connections that can lead to employment.
  • Works closely with probation officers, attends staff meetings, and provides ongoing support to offenders, including helping inmates transition to community supervision before release.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT

The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
