Salary: 

  • Attorney: 0-2 years’ experience                        $65,000 - $70,000
  • Senior Attorney: 2+ years’ experience              $75,000 - $80,000

What you will do:

  • Represent the Department in state court proceedings, formal and informal hearings and administrative proceedings
  • Provide legal advice on the proper course of action to Departmental programs such as mental health, substance abuse licensing and adult protective services
  • Review administrative complaints for legal sufficientcy and compliance with state law and federal regulations 
  • Conduct legal research, motion practice and discovery with the assistance of administrative support staff
  • Prepare complex legal documents and written legal opinions involving Florida law, statutes and administrative rules, consistent with agency policy 
  • Other relevant duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Law Degree
  • Admission to the Florida Bar

Compensation:

The annual base salary range, depending upon experience, is $65,000-$80,000, not including the total compensation benefits packet.  For a full-time permanent appointment, the total compensation inclusive of the benefits listed above is valued at a minimum of $103,327.  Actual total compensation will vary based on insurance and retirement elections.
