Description:

Salary: $63,821.96 Annually

Salary is non-negotiable. The successful candidate will be hired at the minimum salary.

The Telecommunications Administrator serves as the primary point of contact for all telephony-related services within the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC). This role is responsible for coordinating phone services, providing technical support, managing user accounts across multiple platforms, and ensuring effective communication systems are maintained for daily operations and emergency preparedness. This position will report to and work closely with the Computer Services Manager. 

This position is eligible for a hybrid remote/onsite work schedule after a 90-day period, in accordance with Circuit policies and procedures.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the primary contact for all AOC telephony-related incidents and service requests.
  • Coordinates phone line relocations, user transfers, and updates to phone display information.
  • Maintains phone usage guides and instructional materials for staff.
  • Collaborates with service providers and vendors to manage repairs and new installations.
  • Manages IT support tickets through the Miami-Dade County ITD Remedy system.
  • Provides technical support for desk phones, fax machines, Polycom conference phones, and headsets.
  • Administers Mainframe/CRS systems, including creating accounts and adding administrators.
  • Manages user accounts for platforms such as Zoom, Westlaw, COC Premier Services, A-Form, and OnDemand.
  • Supports emergency communication by testing, inventorying, and distributing AOC emergency radios.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field is required; 
  • Three (3) years of related professional experience; however, an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be substituted. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Master’s Degree may substitute for one year of required experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Strong understanding of telecommunications systems, including VoIP, analog phone systems, and conference call technologies.
  • Familiarity with telecommunications hardware such as desk phones, fax machines, headsets, and Polycom conference phones.
  • Knowledge of service ticketing systems (e.g., Service Desk Plus, Remedy).
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals and basic IT infrastructure.
  • Awareness of emergency communication protocols and equipment.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and web-based platforms (e.g., Zoom, Westlaw, COC Premier Services).
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues across a variety of communication devices.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Effective written and verbal communication for documenting processes, coordinating with vendors, and supporting end users.
  • Ability to create and maintain user guides and instructional materials.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks and resolving technical problems under time constraints.
  • Able to adapt quickly to changing technology and support needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service and user support.
  • Comfortable with physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing as required for hardware setup or troubleshooting.

Physical Demands:

  • Work involves a significant amount of standing, walking, sitting, typing, talking, listening, stooping, and reaching with hands and arms. Must be able to transfer up to 10 pounds.

Licenses Certifications:

    • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Cisco CCNA are desirable.
    • Valid driver’s license may be required for travel between sites or facilities.
