Your Specific Responsibilities:

This is a Technical Lead position for BPHL-Miami. The incumbent will support and perform a variety of technical duties across the clinical, surveillance, and rabies sections of the laboratory. The incumbent will also assist with purchasing and asset management.

 

The majority of the incumbent's time will be spent as a technical lead in the HIV and Hepatitis sections and as the lead person for rabies testing. The incumbent ensures quality control, troubleshooting, and places purchase orders to maintain an up-to-date inventory of supplies. The incumbent will ensure the availability of adequate reagents and supplies for the clinical and rabies sections of the laboratory, providing oversight for pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes associated with testing.

 

The incumbent oversees the Rabies Department, ensuring that rabies testing is conducted, and reports are issued in a timely manner. They will also place purchase orders for necessary supplies.

 

The incumbent will assist in ordering supplies to maintain an up-to-date inventory of reagents, media, and other resources for the clinical sections of the laboratory.

 

The incumbent will serve as the property manager for the asset system, managing the laboratory’s equipment inventory. This includes providing property tags, disposing of unused or replaced equipment, and organizing the annual inventory.

Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

 

Qualifications:

Minimum - Public Health License.

Preferred - PhD.
