Join the State Attorney’s Office/1st Judicial Circuit in Milton, FL as a prosecutor.  This area is known as home of the world’s most beautiful beaches!  Attorneys may be asked to work in other offices of the circuit as needed.

We hire Florida Bar members in good standing who have demonstrated an interest in litigation and/or criminal law through course work and internships.  We also recruit attorneys with prosecutorial experience for lateral hires.

Our prosecutors manage a large volume caseload, are in court daily and prosecute numerous trials. Training, mentoring, and supervising are provided by senior attorneys. This is truly a unique opportunity to learn to become a first class trial attorney and to serve and protect the community.

Entry level salary is $50,000 annually, which coupled with our generous benefits package is comparable to $85,756 annually.

Applicants must have a strong interest in courtroom litigation, with excellent communication and critical thinking skills. Attorney responsibilities include, but are not limited to: preparation of criminal justice cases for prosecution requiring legal research, taking of depositions, and the interviewing of witnesses, victims and other parties to ascertain facts of cases for prosecution. Trial work includes preparation and summation of detailed case work for presentation of cases in jury and non-jury trials, and the examining and cross-examining of witnesses, defendants, and victims.

Employment will require professional interaction with the public, law enforcement staff and office staff. Applicant must be able to work independently and as a team member.
