This is a management position responsible for administering the Sexual Risk Avoidance (SRA) Education program FDOH – in Jefferson and Madison counties. Serves as liaison between the CHD and community agencies.  Supervises staff and provides training to assure employees can properly complete assigned job responsibilities.  This individual will be responsible for all supervisory duties including, but not limited to, hiring and selection, developing performance plans, conducting performance appraisals, planning and directing their work, approving leave, and taking disciplinary action as appropriate.  Develops budget for SRA program, and maintains all budget activities and requirements, including purchasing, monitoring program spending and adjusting budgets.  Prepares and submits monthly report as required for program office.


Sexual Risk Avoidance Education:

Serves as the program/contract manager for the SRA Education Program.

Develops and administers policies and procedures.

Ensures compliance with contract requirements.

Independently facilitates an evidence-based abstinence education curriculum and promotes activities to Jefferson and Madison County youth, parents, guardians and significant adults in community settings in accordance with the project work plan or as designated by the project coordinator.

Participates in staff conferences and activity design in an endeavor to develop and improve abstinence education and promoting activities.

Independently prepares necessary equipment, training aids and classrooms for abstinence education and promoting activities.

Independently identifies recruits and provides ongoing training and activities utilizing project peer leaders to promote the abstinence message in school and community settings.

Plans, develops and facilitates program events and activities.

Works with other SRA program staff to provide abstinence education classes in schools and community.

Develops and maintains working relationships with community partners, community organizations, and governmental agencies in order to promote the abstinence message to the community

Attends seminars and workshops to keep abreast of current knowledge.


Grant Writing/Management:

Identifies and reviews new and existing grant opportunities for the CHD. Assists CHD management staff and program personnel with researching and writing grants. Assists CHD Business Manager and CHD management staff with managing grants activities and contracts. Advises CHD Administrator on necessary actions to improve grants management processes.


Other Duties:

Participates in quality improvement activities. Performs other duties as assigned.
