Position Overview and Responsibilities:

Provides consulting guidance and assistance for the SW Region of ORCP with Human Resource processing; for attendance and leave, employee relations, classification, payroll, and benefits; among other functional aspects of Human Resources.

 

Provides logistical, technical, and operational consulting guidance in developing, determining. and administering top priorities within the Reserve. Oversees Awards and Recognition programs. Coordinator for DEP Travel and Training programs for the region. Administers training to staff and new employee orientation guidance per DEP policies, procedures, and requirements. Provides guidance and interpretation of various DEP Directives and Policies to staff and management.

 

Consults with field staff to collect information for a wide variety of periodic reports and other routine or special requests for information. Reviews, prepares, and submits reports through Central Office management to appropriate offices to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

 

Provides consultive support to all Aquatic Preserve (AP) offices in the Southwest Region, including training and DEP policy and procedures. Consults on, monitors, and assists in the development of office internal policies and procedures and recommends revisions or new policies and procedures in response to additional needs and changing conditions. Consults with and trains AP staff to ensure that operational policies are implemented and followed.

 

Provides consultive, technical, logistical, and administrative assistance in the event of an emergency at the Reserve including pre-storm preparation, post-storm clean-up and other assignments as requested.

 

Provides exclusive consultive support to Program Administrator, which may include calendar management, coordination of business travel, and composing and/or editing correspondence of an internal and external nature.

 

Performs other duties as required.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of office procedures and practices; knowledge of principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication. Ability to prepare correspondence and administrative reports. Ability to utilize problem solving techniques. Ability to work independently. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and coordinate work assignments. Ability to review, interpret and develop policy and procedures

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Valid Driver’s License

 

 

Position of Special Trust Requirement:

This position is designated as a Position of Special Trust in accordance with DEP Directive 422, Positions of Special Trust or Responsibility. Successful completion of background screening will be required for this position.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Adobe.

 

 

Pay:

$20 hourly
