Minimum Qualifications:
2 years of direct professional experience in an administrative support position.
Associates degree from an accredited college or university and one year of administrative experience; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference may be given to those with state of Florida purchasing experience.

Position Overview and Responsibilities:
This position provides administrative support to the FWC’s Freshwater Fisheries Management Division serving the Northeast Regional staff. The position serves as a key point of contact for the public and staff, providing professional customer service while supporting a variety of fisheries management programs and office operations. The position performs a range of administrative, clerical, and program support tasks including document preparation, purchasing assistance, record keeping, and coordination of program activities. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced team environment supporting conservation and management efforts for Florida’s freshwater fisheries.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and clerical support to Northeast Regional staff in multiple offices.
- Assist staff with purchasing goods and services while following agency purchasing procedures.
- Compile and upload monthly vehicle logs and reconcile fuel receipts with WEX invoices in accordance with agency procedures.
- Serve as a point of contact for the public by responding to phone, email, and in-person inquiries regarding agency programs and freshwater fisheries activities.
- Prepare and organize documents related to freshwater fisheries management activities and programs.
- Assist with data entry and record management for commercial eel permits and other program records as needed.
- Assist property custodians with maintaining and tracking equipment and inventory records.
- Provide general office support including filing, organizing records, and maintaining office materials.
- Assist with preparation of permits and provide administrative support related to bass tournament length exemption permits.
- Perform other administrative and program support duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to effectively use computers, office software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel Outlook and Adobe Pro), and web-based systems to complete administrative tasks.
Ability to learn and utilize new software systems and technologies.
Possess good customer service, telephone and clerical skills
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to work independently
Ability and desire to work in an extremely fast-paced, team environment
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
Ability to act on changing priorities and responsibilities
Ability to organize, maintain and file documents and records
