Our Organization and Mission:

 

The five Regional Counsel offices were created by the Legislature pursuant to Section 27.511, Fla. Stat. in 2007 to provide legal representation to indigent persons in criminal conflict cases where the Public Defender has a conflict or in cases where there are multiple co-defendants.  The Regional Counsel Office, Fifth Region serves 4 judicial circuits and 13 counties. They are as follows: Fifth Circuit – Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Marion, Sumter; Seventh Circuit – Flagler, Putnam, St. Johns, Volusia; Ninth Circuit – Orange, Osceola; Eighteenth Circuit – Brevard, Seminole.  Whether you work in one or all counties, you work for The Regional Counsel who is appointed by the Governor.

 

Criminal Defense Attorney - The Office of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel, 5th District, is seeking a full-time criminal defense attorney in Viera / Melbourne, Brevard County, Florida.  The position will involve litigating all levels of felony cases.  The primary objective of the attorney is to litigate and provide the most effective and efficient representation possible to our indigent clients.  Must be a member in good standing with The Florida Bar.  To apply, please send a resume, and cover letter by email to Michael C.
