Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position requires that the individual be able to work under the direction of the Data Processing Administrator (DPA) in Information Technology (IT). The IT job duties will revolve around system hardware and software maintenance that includes problem determination and resolution. System installation, system monitoring, user support and some staff trainings are also part of the job. Will be able to back up the DPAor other IT staff when unavailable.

Help Desk and Desktop support of DOH Marion and DOH Citrus. Respond to IT problems in a timely manner. This includes assisting users remotely or in person at their workstation. Use and maintain the local ticket system for Marion and Citrus CHD’s, including desktop support, network support, HMS support and special projects as needed. Travels to Citrus CHD to support and maintain their IT environment as needed.

Maintain and support all communication systems including VOIP Phone System(s), cell phones and all other devices including data circuits, monitoring and reports any trouble with communication system and working until resolution.

Coordinates the installation and setup of remote devices such as iPhones, Air Cards and VPN on DOH Laptops/Tablets/Netbooks.

Provide support in the installation of any software and/or hardware. Performs diagnostics to identify hardware and software problems. Makes ongoing suggestions to improve the PC install process.

Maintain IT equipment inventory from acquisition through disposition using Department of Health (DOH) Asset Manager program. Also, assist Marion County personnel at yearly building inventory.

Assist DPA in performing any Disaster Recovery (DR) backup procedures. When required, be responsible for verifying successful backups, both to the local backup server and to the DR server offsite. Change and inventory backup tapes in a timely manner for off-site delivery. Be available to assist in activation of the COOP-IT during a disaster event.

Perform other related duties as assigned by IT Data Processing Administrator to support the IT needs for facility. Also, backup other IT staff as needed. Is subject to call for afterhours IT support as required.

Perform installation, maintenance and support Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN) and Wireless (Aruba) networks as required. 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  •  Knowledge of distributed processing operations, software, procedures and equipment
  •  Knowledge of computer software and basic programming skills
  •  Knowledge of problem solving and troubleshooting skills – being able to assess a problem and working it through to a solution
  •  Knowledge of basic PC hardware components and peripheral equipment
  •  Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedure and systems
  •  Knowledge of principles and processes for customer service
  •  Knowledge of oral communications both over the phone and in person
  •  Active listening skills and being able to listen to what other people are saying and asking questions as appropriate
  •  Ability to write technical data processing reports and documentation
  •  Ability to develop training programs related to distributed processing operations and procedures 

Qualifications:

Minimum-

2 years IT Desktop and Help Desk Support experience

Windows OS 11 support experience

Microsoft Office knowledge and experience

 

Preferred-

Comptia A+ Certification

Help Desk software experience

VOIP Telephone support experience

IT Infrastructure knowledge and experience
