Requirements:

  • A High School Diploma or its equivalent
  • Two (2) years of accounting experience is required. A post-secondary degree in accounting or business administration may be used as an alternative for the years of experience on a year-for-year basis.

 

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of general office procedures and practices
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable Florida Statutes, Florida Administrative Code, policies and procedures relating to purchasing and receipt of money.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in the use Microsoft office suite
  • Knowledge of proper accounting procedures in relation to purchasing, accounts receivable, cash management, retail merchandising and reconciliations

 

This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

This position will be filled at $40,000.00 annually.

 

Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Assists with accounting functions of the Bureau as a participant in the receipt and reporting system.

 

Reconciles daily transactions inclusive of online payments and point of sale which is all the transactions for registrations, dormitory, applications, renewals and books.

 

Completes purchasing transactions for the College regarding contracted services and expense Processes all refund transactions for cash, checks and credit card payments.

 

Reconciles monthly invoices for accounts payable for the Fire College inclusive of banking, security and utility invoices.

 

Reconciles monthly p-card transaction reports.

 

Backup for front desk reception.

 

Backup for retail bookstore.

 

Provides assistance to supervisor as needed.
