High school diploma or equivalent is required.

 

Additional requirements:

  • Florida Fire Safety Inspector I state certification or willing to obtain within one (1) year in accordance with FL Administrative Code 69A-39.005.
  • Florida Fire Instructor I state certification or willing to obtain within one (1) year) in accordance with FL Statute 633.408 and FL Administrative Code 69A-37.59.
  • Florida Firefighter I state certification or willing to obtain within two (2) years in accordance with FL Statute 633.408 and FL Administrative Code 69A-37.55.

 

 

This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

 

This position is in Ocala, Florida and will be hired at an annual salary of $52,000.00.

 

Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of Florida Statute, Florida Administrative Code, policies and procedures relating to educational programs.

Knowledge of the techniques for planning, implementing or evaluating adult educational programs.

Knowledge and ability to schedule and facilitate virtual meetings.

Knowledge and ability to use audio visual teaching aids and personal computers.

Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.

Ability to develop and revise education program courses including curriculum with plan of delivery.

Ability to communicate and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of customers.

Ability to effectively communicate in writing, orally and instruct adult vocational courses in a classroom setting.

 

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Reviews, recommends for approval, and monitors new course offerings and vocational instructional programs relative to certification and training and certification education programs, proposed by training providers, colleges, and universities; to ensure that activities conform with existing laws, regulations and agency policies. 

 

Plans identifies, consults, and coordinates statewide education conferences and workshops for educational and training needs of constituent groups and arranges for training to address those needs.

 

Consults with and advises supervisory, administrative, and instructional personnel in program development including curriculum content, study plans and instructional techniques.

 

Provides leadership and coordination for the continuing education and recertification of fire inspectors and fire instructors.

 

Instruct classes when necessary.

 

Performs related work as required.
