SPECIAL NOTES:

- One (1) year of secretarial or office clerical work experience
- One (1) year computer Microsoft experience (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- A valid and current driver’s license.
Preference:
- Experience operating phone and directing calls.
This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.
This position is located in Ocala, Florida and will be hired at an annual salary of $33,760.00.
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of general office, administrative, and clerical procedures and systems.
- Knowledge of customer service techniques.
- Knowledge of the principles of interpersonal relationships.
- Knowledge of principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication.
- Knowledge of Safety Program specific software, Florida State Fire Service database, SharePoint.
- Ability to understand applicable Florida Statutes, Florida Administrative Code, policies and procedures.
- Ability to operate a personal computer with proficiency in MSOffice Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain internal and external working relationships with others.
- Ability to work with confidential materials.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Receive and route telephone calls for the Safety section.
- Compile data for administrative decisions, type letters and correspondence, make copies of program documents for public speaking engagements, maintain files for the Safety section, assist with preparing Compliance Inspection Reports and Certificates, provide general clerical support for Safety Field Representative.
- Inputs and maintains fire department data in the Florida State Fire Service database.
- Monitors media for firefighter safety related issues and fire department changes and performs other related work assignments as required.
