Your Specific Responsibilities:
Certifies clients for participation in the WIC Program in accordance with State WIC office policies and regulations stated in DHM-150-24. Provides nutrition education to low, high, and medically high-risk clients in the Ocala Clinic as defined by agency policies. May travel to outlying clinics as needed and maintains same client service standards as the main clinic.
Provides assessment, nutrition education, counseling, and breastfeeding support to low, high, and medically high-risk clients using approved materials and format. Assists clients in goal setting for behavioral change and evaluates client progress in attaining goals. Documentation of direct nutrition assessment and care includes appropriate referral, care plan using SOAP format in FL Wise, date, and signature of provider.
Accurately completes reports, data entry into EARS, HMS, People First, and the FL Wise System by required deadlines using the FL Wise manual and DHM 150-24 policies and procedures.
Provides services to clients in an efficient manner to assure smooth clinic flow and caseload evenly distributed among nutrition staff. Follows established sanitation, safety practices, computer, and phone use policies.
Attends and participates in staff meetings, and professional and staff development activities. Completes required state and WIC trainings as evidenced by completion certificates of TRAIN transcript.
Participates in preparation and presentation of in-service trainings, bulletin board displays, and other activities and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor. May be required to present nutrition programs to healthcare professionals and community organizations.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Ability to develop high risk care plans.
· Knowledge of science and current practice of nutrition and dietetics.
· Knowledge of nutrition and diet assessment techniques.
· Ability to analyze and interpret anthropometric, biochemical, and clinical data.
· Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work activities.
Qualifications:
Minimum -
Bachelor Degree or Master of Science in Nutrition or Dietetics
Valid Drivers License
Willing to travel to clinics using your own vehicle
Florida License as a Dietitian/Nutritionist
Preferred -
Registered Dietitian with Commission of Dietetic Registration
Experience completing nutrition counseling, assessments and writing nutrition care plans
Bilingual
Experience with FL-Wise application
