YOUR SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is a professional position requiring independent action and will be responsible for the training and quality assurance programmatic aspects of the programs. This position is responsible for preparing and conducting training programs for Healthy Start program team members on the service modalities, and program specific policies and procedures. This position is also responsible for the performance of quality assurance and improvement activities to assure compliance with service delivery, contracted requirements and statewide standards and guidelines.

 

Reviews and evaluates the work of care coordinators (counselors and nurses). Monitors and evaluates the appropriateness of performance through regular quality assurance and improvement activities (record reviews, field/site visits, peer reviews, report analysis and personal interviews with program participants to verify evidence of service delivery, quality of service delivery, and to ascertain customer satisfaction with services). Monitors operation activities to meet specific measurable service objectives to assure compliance with service delivery, contracted requirements and statewide standards and guidelines. Investigates, assesses, analyzes and makes recommendations to resolve issues and problems. Recommends operation policies, including creating, updating, interpreting policies, protocols, procedures and tools for deployment. Develops and/or update program written internal quality assurance plan.Register and complete car seat training in order to facilitate the classes and conduct car seats inspections. Register and complete FDOT Defensive Driving Training and test.

 

Develops, coordinates, evaluates, and conducts appropriate pre-service, in-service and staff development training. Provides direction and guidance to program personnel on policies, program requirements, procedures, protocols and methods to perform their jobs. Assesses training needs, establishes priorities, identifies resources and develops training plans.

 

Prepares training records, corrective action plans, reports (narrative and statistical reports) and correspondence. Compiles relevant data, track trends, and improvement activities. Prepares reports on case record reviews, field investigations, and personal interviews identifying types of errors, causes of errors, and recommends corrective action to reduce incidences of errors. Acts as training point person for program; tracks completion of mandatory trainings and notifies appropriate supervisor of non-compliance.

 

Collaborates with Healthy Start Coalition of Orange County, Coordinated Intake and Referrals home visiting advisory committee and other community organizations providing services to pregnant women, infants and families. Provides annual required training to contracted vendors. Serves on interdisciplinary teams to develop optimum resolutions; carries out the implementation of solutions.

 

Attends staff meetings, in-service and trainings. Ensures professional development by completing mandatory trainings, webinars and on-line trainings. Participates in program conferences, calls and curricula development to develop and improve training programs and to provide timely updates to service delivery requirements.

 

Performs special projects as assigned.  Performs related duties as required including such activities as overseeing and scheduling of interns and volunteer activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or higher in social work, social sciences (psychology, human services, biology, sociology) or a health-related field as nursing, health education, health planning or health care administration.
  • Experience in researching, developing, presenting, and evaluating technical and professional trainings.
  • Experience in conducting professional training to employees including web-based training seminars to individuals or group of people.
  • One year of verifiable experience in developing, presenting and coordinating staff development programs.
  •  
  • One year of verifiable professional experience in compiling, analyzing data, evaluating processes and producing action plans/written reports on the results.
  • A valid FL driver’s license or state identification card OR a valid driver’s license from another state (you will be required to get a FL driver license within 30 days of hire).
  • Willing to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. This may include working in a special needs or Red Cross shelter, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural. Emergency duties may also include in-state and/or out-of-state deployment. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of verifiable experience in conducting Training Needs Assessments to identify training needs and gaps in training.
  • One year of verifiable professional experience in conducting quality assurance activities.
