MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of administrative experience; or

A master’s degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for the required experience; or

Administrative or clerical experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

An equivalent combination of education and experience which equals five (5) years can substitute for the above requirements.

Requires possession of a valid class driver license.

The anticipated minimum hiring salary for this position is $25,479.22 annually.

JOB DUTIES:

This is a professional and confidential position assisting management in the coordination of administrative tasks and/or assignments which are complex in nature and very broad in objective with integration of diverse functions. Work involves the performance of administrative objectives and priorities which involve independent planning and coordination.

Responsible for overall administrative function of the district. This includes the responsibility for all employee records, personnel matters which include assisting and receiving all work assignments as it relates to carrying out the rules and regulations in regards to employment, terminations, demotions and disciplinary actions. Grievance proceedings, insurance, retirement, commercial driver license drug testing program. Reviews position descriptions and employee review and performance ratings. Maintains current information of division policies and programs and processes routine matters within established policies. This position assists the District Manager with the research, development and implementation of subject matters relating to collective bargaining issues.

Responsible for overseeing budgetary matters. Directs purchasing, budget status reports and provides input and recommendations for budget.

Processes a variety of correspondence, investigates subject matter and prepares replies.

Coordinates and oversees computer data entry for computer applications which includes Forestry Equipment Inventory, Encumbrance System, Fire Reporting System, Manpower Reporting System and other programs. Responsible for overseeing computer maintenance, troubleshooting systems, utilizing available programming for report generation and providing support for field unit personal computers.

Performs related work as required.
