POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is in the Orlando Regional Operations Center. The incumbent will work independently assisting management by providing analysis and research on a variety of administrative matters.  Work involves assignments which are broad as to objective and content and require independently making decisions and obtaining solutions by operating within well-established policies, laws, rules, and guidelines.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Maintaining current administrative files to include all correspondence, investigative case files, and other administrative information;
  • Planning, initiating, and completing administrative duties;
  • Extracting, collating, and merging stored information in database as required. Reviewing records and reports which require action and recommending solutions or courses of action;
  • Organizing and preparing electronic investigative case books (E-Books) utilizing Adobe Acrobat, or other related computer software programs;
  • Scanning documentary evidence. Revising and updating lengthy materials;
  • Performing data base inquiries for investigators/supervisors;
  • Assisting in conducting daily administrative activities and/or directing special projects or activities; and
  • Caring for the custody and control of all property assigned.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of administrative principles and practices. Knowledge of office procedures and practices;
  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection;
  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication;
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data relating to administrative functions such as accounting, personnel, purchasing or report writing;
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments;
  • Ability to communicate effectively; and
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

BACKGROUND:

FDLE requires an extensive background process of all recommended applicants. Preference will be given to current FDLE members who have satisfactorily completed at least six months of the probationary period for their current position.
