YOUR SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is a Family Planning Prenatal Health Program position in which the incumbent works by using ultrasound/sonographic equipment under the supervision of the Registered Nursing Consultant.  Additional duties include Health support Technician work including laboratory and screening for vital signs.  Examples of work include taking blood samples, operating clinical equipment, collect and document medical information manually and electronically. Documents findings in the medical record. Notifies the nurse/ provider of abnormal findings.  Prepares specimens for transport.  Administer tuberculin test.

 

Conducts and calibrates diagnostic ultrasound machines.  Performs ultrasound procedures on all maternity patients as directed by the clinician. Instruct patients as to posture and breathing during exposure.  Prepares records of work accomplished and maintains files of films and reports

 

Document and enter data into the manual / electronic medical record

 

Provides optimal customer services, including answering the phone, routing calls appropriately, making appointments and giving general information to the public.  Assures that the client completes the client satisfaction survey at each encounter.

 

Assists in the maintenance of the clinic area, inventory, ordering supplies.  Maintain a clean work environment in the clinical area. 

 

 

Attends and participates in in-services education programs.

 

Maintain and submit required administrative forms accurately, legibly and within the required time frame.  EARS, People First, Emergency Response, Travel)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • One year verifiable experience: operating Diagnostic Ultrasound Machines, and providing direct client care in a medical setting (clinic, doctor’s office, hospital, or health department.
  • Experience performing any of the following examinations/screenings: Performing Ultrasound procedures on maternity clients.
  •  Certification as a Radiology Technician.
  • Work during or beyond normal work hours or days in event of an emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent working in special needs or Red Cross Shelters, or to perform other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.
