MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of professional experience in quantitative data analysis, business writing, economics, budget formulation, survey design or economic development.

 

A master's degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, statistics, or mathematics can substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.

 

A doctorate from an accredited college or university in business, economics, statistics or mathematics can substitute for the required experience.

 

Requires possession of a valid Driver’s License.

JOB DUTIES:

 

General:  Responsible for analyzing Child Nutrition and Supplemental Food Program data sets to identify trends and measure performance across the division.  Develops and operates economic, analytic and statistical models to optimize and improve program quality, program integrity, and program efficiency.  Develops and maintains statistical models that provide insights and understanding of the division’s program operations. 

 

Assembles and employs division and other public data sources to develop, execute, and deliver quantitative research and analysis on current trends in the division’s nutrition programs, including small-scale ad hoc analyses to in-depth and rigorous explorations of trends, issues and polices.  Identifies and evaluates indicators to monitor program performance.  Analyzes economic phenomena by application of statistics, econometric methods and computer simulation experiments to include econometric modeling and coordinates the necessary data collection in support of forecasting methodologies. Provides projections and trend analyses for detecting and analyzing trends or deviations in programs.  Completes special analyses, studies, and research projects as needed. 

 

Assists in the evaluation of program effectiveness and campaign measurement based on data and research.  Designs survey instruments and research methodologies to collect data. Gathers, analyzes and presents data and recommendations to division leadership to develop results-oriented program changes and initiatives based on program analysis and customer needs. Conducts studies of employee and/or organizational efficiency and productivity and recommends changes or improvements in organizational and operating procedures.  Provides technical consultation and develops research strategies for investigating topics of interest for division leadership and staff concerning the collection, analysis, and reporting of data. Assists with analyzing, measuring and tracking process improvement changes.

 

Serves as the division’s data custodian.  Maintains program data files and responds to public information requests. Translates data into meaningful information and develops reports for public consumption using facts and figures in charts, presentations and non-technical, written text. Responsible for compilation of data to comply with legislatively mandated reporting to the legislature. Compiles data for bill analyses and other ad hoc reporting requested by division leadership, department staff, or other state entities.

 

Performs other related duties as assigned or required.

 

Assists with the division’s emergency management functions during periods of disaster.
