The Work You Will Do:

Prepare files for processing all Appraisal Experience Audits for USPAP compliance of applicants seeking certification as required.  Scan materials into the OnBase System to ensure that all appraisal experience audit material, Florida Real Estate Appraisal Board (FREAB) correspondence and other appraisal correspondence are processed in a timely manner.  Coordinate experience audit submissions with contracted expert and monitor progress of the audits to ensure applications are processed timely.  Prepare timely certifications of license history and scan into OnBase and Versa.

 

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Prepare summary of applicant agenda and materials for bi-monthly FREAB meetings.Scan information into OnBase and upload to the appropriate queue.  Attends the FREAB probable cause and general meetings providing assistance.  Perform appraisal application analysis and research assignments pertaining to deficient applications, develop a timeline of the results, including a recommended solution or the deficiency for the director’s review based upon the information researched from Versa and OnBase.

 

Receive, analyze, and process general incoming appraisal mail and faxes.  Provide customer service by responding to inquiries from emails, telephone calls and walk-in visitors.  Provides assistance to the Executive Director relating to public records requests when needed.  Also provides assistance in reviewing the file and redacting any confidential information in accordance with statutory requirements.

 

Review National Registry data received from the Appraisal Board Subcommittee (ASC).  Update disciplinary information in the National Registry within the time mandated by ASC Policy Statement 3-D.

 

Responsible for maintaining and updated compliance in Versa relating to disciplinary actions, including monitoring fine payments, education requirement and other discipline for FREAB when needed.  Assists with updating final agency actions for the DRE web page when needed.

 

Provides assistance to Executive Director and Government Analyst II with various tasks and special projects as needed.  Performs other related duties as requested by the Director and Deputy Director.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently, handle multiple duties and prioritize, plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Knowledge of board functions and licensure procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of Chapters 475, 455 and 120,119 Florida Statutes,
  •  Basic knowledge of Florida Administrative Code 61J1 and USPAP.                                                                          
  •  Basic knowledge of Microsoft office, (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  •  Basic knowledge of Versa Regulation and OnBase.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and to work in concert with peers.
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow and other activities relating to the improvement of management practices.
  • Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials; and to communicate effectively, both public speaking and written communication.
  • Ability to handle difficult individuals over the phone and deal effectively with people.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university, and either a minimum of one (1) year of professional work experience with program planning, program research, evaluation and / or administrative work.
  • Must have one (1) year of experience in relaying and communicating information to the public verbally, and knowledge of board functions and license procedures.
  • Must have one (1) year of experience in researching and communication policy, procedure, statutes, and rules.
  • Experience in preparing board meeting and committee meeting materials may substitute on a year-for year basis for the required college education.
  • Professional experience as described above can substitute on a year for year basis for the required formal education.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply Chapters 475, 455 and 120, Florida Statutes, Florida Administrative Code 61J1, and Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice appropriately.
  • Experience conferring with personnel from state and local government agencies and other persons and organizations regarding customer services and serving as a liaison with these groups and individuals.

Preferred Qualification:

Preference may be given to those having Division of Real Estate, real estate, or investigative experience, as well as board experience and knowledge of the federal structure of appraisal regulation.
