MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of professional experience in systems analysis, program planning, program research, program evaluation, training development, emergency preparedness, emergency management or administrative work.
A master’s degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.
Professional or nonprofessional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
Requires possession of a valid driver license.

JOB DUTIES:
Assists in the development and communication of division information and publications designed to keep the public (both consumers and business entities) updated on consumer issues as well as the division's responsibilities, accomplishments and activities. This position will assist in the development of public relation stategies based upon knowledge and experience in response to consumer protection initiatives.
Conducts research, develops, and analyzes statistical reports for trends in the number and types of issues related to consumer issues to make recommendations to upper management for improvements to communications and responsiveness to the public and department stakeholders.
Prepares and disseminates consumer protection information for multi-media programs, prepares and delivers informational speeches, presentations, and exhibits to increase awareness of consumer protection issues and available department consumer protection programs and policies.
Responds to inquiries, complaints, suggestions and comments from the public in a timely manner to foster increased interaction between department staff and citizens to facilitate amicable resolution of any concerns.
Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with local consumer protection officials and public and private agencies to promote consumer protection.
Serves as liaison to facilitate consumer protection-related appointments for the Commissioner. When necessary, will appear on behalf of the Commissioner at governmental, civic or educational functions when the Commissioner is unable to attend in relation to consumer issues.
Performs related work as required and assigned by supervisor.
Employee may be asked to perform special duties in relation to the Departments emergency response obligations.

- Ability to demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to be organized and manage time management effectively.
