YOUR SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with the Program Manager to develop, deliver and increase awareness and knowledge of program goals and strategies among staff members, community members, and relevant organizations. Schedule events, programs, and activities, and attend community meetings or health fairs to understand community issues pertaining to program goals or build relationships with community members. Distribute flyers, brochures, or other informational or educational documents to inform members of a targeted community. Attend monthly Fetal Infant Mortality Review (FIMR) Community Action Team and Case Review Team meetings for the Catalyst project. Assist with the development, implementation, maintenance, and gathering of data for the catalyst project dashboard. Maintain updates to dashboard on a weekly basis. Execute Memorandum of Agreements/Collaborative Partnership Agreements with identified key partners and stakeholders to demonstrate alliance, and collective impact to address the needs of the catalyst grant. Develop and execute a community outreach action plan outlining effort relating to outreach and community engagement activities including identifying specific strategic partnership relationships that will be nurtured, activities to be executed, goal, objectives, and timelines. Develop and maintain project schedules and timelines for events. Plan, promote and execute events and activities, logs of engagements to include meetings, type and number of partners engaged and outreach activities to new partners. Participate in the implementation of the communications and marketing plans for each activity/event in concert with the Department of Health Public Information Officer and Catalyst Project Director. Performs administrative tasks associated with event quotes, invoicing, letter preparation, development and routing of agreements and stakeholder correspondence. Identify and pursue opportunities for third-party events and liaise with organizers. Provide post events communication to Infant Mortality Task Force (CAN), Health Equity, Safe Kids Orange County Coalition, program participant advisory group, and other entities of any events or activities for catalyst grant project. Liaise with internal and external departments, committees, and program participants to facilitate the coordination of activities and events. Consults with program manager and administrate staff to resolve operational issues and problems. Provide a monthly report on the grant activities and timeline, including activities related to social determinants of health impact. Create action plans based on research and data for formation of activities aligned with the catalyst project goals, including evaluation planning. Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with key partners, community leaders, organizations, and various stakeholders to increase awareness of and support for the catalyst grant project. Provide leadership and capacity building training to community members to advocate for policy and system changes. Develop an alliance for participating in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the strategic alliance for infant mortality reduction. Develop strategies to expand and link pregnant and parenting women to services that will improve birth outcomes, address social determinants of health, chronic disease and the growth and development of their infant. Maintain a database and tracking system to document all, activities, executed agreements and partnerships. Provide a monthly report of the status and outcomes of all partnerships/agreements executed. Combine, evaluate, and reason with information and data to make decisions and solve problems; Investigates, analyses, and makes recommendation to resolve challenges, or barriers related to action plan implementation and timelines and /or outcome evaluation plan. Assist in grant management including writing reports, preparing action plans, quarterly reports, work plans, preparing statistical and narrative reports, budget development and monitoring, and attend grant meetings. Assess all health education, services, and resources, and Maternal Child Health data sources to increase capacity and client participation for catalyst project. Increase awareness in the participation in relevant workshops (i.e., health fairs, planning boards, health care projects, advisory councils, and professional and civic organizations). Participates in in the Catalyst project outcome evaluation development and implementation activities. Submits abstracts and conference presentation submissions based on project outcomes. Participates in monthly Infant Mortality Task Force, HRSA Project Officer meetings, HRSA Technical Assistance trainings meetings, and other identified meetings to report outcomes and planned activities. Communicate efficiently and effectively with persons outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources. Observe, receive, and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources to complete job duties. Complete trainings and complete additional trainings as applicable. Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time. Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members and performs other assigned duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
- A current Florida Department of Health employee.
- A bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Public or Community Health, Health Administration, Maternal Child Health, Health Promotions, or related field.
- Three years of verifiable professional experience in community engagement and development, marketing and promotions or similar role.
- One year of verifiable professional experience in developing and executing action plans.
- One year of verifiable professional experience in identifying, cultivating, and managing relationships with key partners, community leaders, organizations, and key stakeholders.
- One year of verifiable professional experience in creating marketing materials, designing advertisement, planning, and executing awareness campaigns and events.
- One year of verifiable professional experience in planning, organizing, coordinating, and conducting community meetings.
- One year of verifiable professional experience in collecting, compiling, and analyzing information and data and producing written reports.
- Conduct outreach in the field at various locations throughout Orange County. In absence of a county vehicle, do you have access to personal transportation.
- A valid FL driver’s license or state identification card OR a valid driver’s license from another state (you will be required to get a FL driver license within 30 days of hire).
- May require occasional travel out of county and/or state.
- Willing to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. This may include working in a special needs or Red Cross shelter, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural. Preferences:
Master’s degree- public health, social work, public administration, community relations, urban/public affairs, related field. Strong knowledge of maternal health/infant health or infant/maternal mortality prevention theories, methodologies, and evidence-based practices. Familiarity with relevant local, state, and national policies and regulations related maternal and infant care. Strong knowledge of public health program evaluation methods.
