The Work You Will Do:
The role of the Development Representative Supervisor is responsible for the management and oversight of the Orlando economic development staff and the policy and programs to retain and expand existing targeted industries in Florida, attract new business investment to the state, and retain/grow targeted investment in Florida.

Pay:
$85,000 - $120,000 Annually
Your Specific Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct staff members to accomplish programmatic mandates.
- Conduct annual professional evaluations of staff members in accordance with State and Department personnel requirements.
- Direct the development, management and tracking of business investment projects.
- Direct Florida’s economic development programs to increase job creation and value-added employment opportunities.
- Direct target business sector programs to improve competitive intelligence of sector opportunities and identify specific location leads.
- Develop and execute strategy for lead generation activities.
- Recommend policies to support the growth and retention of high value industry sectors.
- Direct aggressive promotional programs to targeted sectors through direct contact marketing.
- Work cooperatively with statewide leaders in economic development, business, and state agencies, particularly in addressing issues of new and expanding business investment projects.
- Nurture the statewide primary partner relationship.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to determine priorities regarding Florida Commerce mission and organization goals.
- Translates strategies into specific goals, tactics, action plans and deliverables. Implements plans and holds self and others accountable for results.
- Develop and implement strategies for economic development lead generation campaigns for targeted audiences.
- Presenting on behalf of Florida Commerce to a variety of audiences with the ability to engage with executives and business leaders.
- Collaborate with other teams and departments internally on behalf of the business development team.
- Prepare or supervise the preparation of reports on the economic development programs, projects, or industries as requested by the Deputy Secretary, the Legislators, or auditors.
- Oversee the database for tracking business leads and investment projects.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 5 + years experience in management
- 3 + years experience in economic development or business development
- Ability to travel overnight and internationally
- Highly effective negotiating skills
- Strong leader with solid business judgment
- Strong quantitative skills

- Excellent analytical skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Qualifications:
